Today's FREEBIE is from this unit. It's a poster for Writing an Effective Lead. I thought it would be a good freebie for today because it's a good general writing resource. I find that writing effective leads and satisfying endings are always challenging for my students. This visual will give them suggestions for exciting ways to draw the reader in. Click on the picture below to download your own copy (uploaded to google docs).
Lastly, the delivery trucks just keep on coming this week. This morning I was VERY excited to get my new T-shirts from Cafe Press. I ordered these for dress down Fridays. I can't wait to order a few more, but I promised my husband I'd hold back on the shopping for a bit ... but only for a bit. ;)
Happy Friday!!!

Love the t-shirts!!

Hi Ms. Runde!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and teacherspayteachers page. I love all you stuff!! I was wondering, what program do you use to create your unit plans?
I bought your Personal memoir unit and I can't wait to teach it, thanks!
Best,
Rebecca
Thanks, Rebecca. And thank-you so much for the kind feedback!
ReplyDeleteI use plain old Microsoft Word to create all my work. I make posters using photoshop, and copy and paste them into a text box in my word document. I have bought some lettering from lettering delights (bought the commercial license), and scrapbook elements from Scrapdelicious.
will you be creating packets for each month of the school year? i just purchased your personal memoir unit and would love to get a jumpstart on planning with future units.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeannie. I am planning to do more - I'm working on a fictional narrative packet right now. Hope to have it done by the end of the week. If you check out my post on "The Write Genre" - click on my writing label on my sidebar, you will see a full schedule of my writing workshop plans. This is what I'll be following in class this year and I plan to create a packet for almost all of them.
ReplyDeleteI am unable, and I am very sad =-(,to find your writing units anywhere. I emailed you hoping you can send me a link. I bought the Fictional narrative unit and LOVED it. I want to buy the rest, but like I said, I can't find them on TpT. The post with this information seems to be gone as well. PLEASE help me.
ReplyDeletethanks a bunch,
