My Truth Monday

22 October 2013
Well, my first Monday Truth should be the fact that I'm having such a hard time getting back into a regular blogging routine.  But that wouldn't be news to any of you.  So, in a desperate attempt to get a little more regular with this routine, and share a little bit about ME (the person, not the teacher), I'm linking up with Denise for "My Truth Monday" at Sunny Days in Second Grade.

OK - here's my first Monday truth - fitness is the theme this week.

I even bought myself my first new pair of ballet shoes in 21 years (did I just give away my age???)  Even if the rest of my body doesn't look the part, my feet do now ... and that's a "step" in the right direction.  (too cheesy???)  ;)

Click the pic on the right to hop on over to Denise's blog and read a few more "true confessions" from behind the teacher desk.

Happy Monday!

  1. Oh yay that is soooo cool! The first point I made in my truth was that if you don't love it you can't stick to it- and here you've found something you love again! That's so cool. Haha I joined the linky for the same reason.. I have been so useless at blogging! It's terrible! At least now I should be able to do once a week (hopefully)

  2. That's awesome. I think it would be fun to take a dance class. Ballet and I wouldn't work though. Best of luck with the dance class.

  3. I like you am in the worst shape of my life. I've been trying to lose some weight and have made some positive changes, but I still have not got any sort of exercise routine going. I WILL get there! Congrats on your success!!!

  4. The opposite is to be the parent to three, well into my 30's, but a first-year teacher and so overwhelmed, anxiety-ridden and stressed that I've LOST weight since school began, a LOT! I am trying to get on a healthier pattern for my mental health and general well-being. Walking the dogs, cooking dinner, taking a break from school when I need it.
I love your blog, turn to it frequently for teaching suggestions, ideas and just remembering that I can _LOVE_ teaching, not be a basketcase over it. Ballet sounds like _such_ fun, I'm glad you're enjoying it.

  5. I'm so proud of you. I'm taking piano lessons again but that doesn't count as exercise, does it? Must. start. walking. again! You inspire me.

  6. I love that you are taking ballet classes, and am super jealous! I too danced competitively my whole life, and now am a big couch potato. I have been searching for adult dance classes near me, but have found none! I'm sure it feels so good to be back! Good luck with it and have fun!

  7. Good for you for finding something you enjoy doing! And then doing it. It's too easy to talk about how we should be healthier, and a whole lot harder to do it. But, as I've been reminded many times, every step you take is a step off the couch. So yay for steps, even baby ones!
