I am also a 5/6 teacher in a small school in Ontario, but at a french school (which means I have to translate everything you've done! lol). I am looking at your board of "Today we will learn about...". Do you change that every day? I love the idea, but it seems like it would be a lot of work! For the sharing in our three part lessons we can do a bansho, gallery walk, or math congress. Because the time is so limited, from what I've seen so far, bansho seems to be what our board is recommending.Runde's Roomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10131626283927713737noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5202102119215739734.post-53029762167570740552012-02-08T21:36:46.811-05:002012-02-08T21:36:46.811-05:00We have been doing the three part lesson in math f...We have been doing the three part lesson in math for a few years now. Our board calls it "SUM" math but it is the same thing. The kids really like to problem solve together and share their thinking. Do you do gallery walks as well as the Bansho? My class just finished one this week were they had to find the surface area of different food boxes (we had already mastered area and perimeter so this was the natural next step). It's a great way to launch concepts. Thanks for sharing!iloveknittinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05666386355563382601noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5202102119215739734.post-89743728752892677042012-02-07T22:23:59.405-05:002012-02-07T22:23:59.405-05:00The reflection post-it note as exit slips are perf...The reflection post-it note as exit slips are perfect!
