Learn Like a Pirate Book Study

02 June 2015
Ahoy!  Arrrrre you ready?  It's another summer book study!

I have fallen in love with Paul Solarz' book, Learn Like a Pirate.  THIS is the classroom I want to have next year.  So, I'm joining up with The Primary Gal and other bloggers for a fabulous book study starting June 4th.

If you don't have a copy of the book already, you've got to pick one up and join in on the fun.  We'll be posting every Thursday until the end of July.  Read along with us and join in on the comments with your own thoughts and ideas.

So, batten down the hatches and get ready to set sail.  This is going to be a great book study!!!  See you Thursday!

  1. I've seen several posts for this book and another, Teach Like a Pirate. Which should I read first?

    1. I read Teach Like a Pirate the year before last - it is also phenomenal. I don't think you need to read them in any particular order - they are quite different. Teach Like a Pirate focuses more on your actual teaching delivery style - incorporating more engagement into your lessons; Learn Like a Pirate is more about establishing classroom routines and strategies to develop more independent learners and student ownership.

  8. I got the book last week and am really loving the practical advice that comes with it. I've already done some of the methods with my class, and will move even more so to a student led program this year. Maybe by the next year (17-18), I'll be ready to go full fledge pirate mode.
